Gadgetry
Ben recommended this piece of gadgetry (jump drive card reader). I was ordering a ton of other stuff from Amazon, so I figured I'd get one and see how it works. It's pretty sweet (loads SD --> computer way faster than my camera --> computer). The only thing I'd caution is that it's made out of pretty lightweight plastic, and I'm not sure how it'll stand up to wear and tear in sand and heat.Anyway, thanks for the recommendation (and for the excuse to use the word "gadgetry"). Fun toys are great!

They are indeed very sweet. Back when I had a PDA that's what I used exclusively. People would pull out their "thumb-drives" and I'd pull out my card reader. Sure, it was bigger... but I could use my memory card in a superior way!
heh. "gadgetry" - the good friend of mine who's a PCV in Togo called me yesterday, we were talking about packing and my inability to speak french, the two subjects that occoupy my life at this poing.
Right before we got off the phone, she got all serious and said "Ben, about gadgets. You're not going overboard with the gadgets, are you?".
::sigh:: This post would not help my defense. ;)
